Denver-based Parkifi acquired by DISH Network

Today, DISH Network announced the acquisition of Denver-based startup Parkifi, which creates connected sensors and software to track the use of parking spaces. It's an unexpected move for the satellite TV provider, one that signals a shift into IoT technology and wireless networks. Parkifi co-founder and CEO Ryan Sullivan will join DISH as a vice president, leading a team in the development of IoT-related products and services. [Press release]

Occipital closes $12M of a total $15M Series C

Occipital, the Boulder-based creator of AR, VR and 3D scanning technology, announced this week that it had made the first close in an expected $15 million round of Series C funding. The first close came in at $12 million. Occipital co-founder Vikas Reddy told Built In Colorado that the company hopes to raise the remaining $3 million from strategic investors in the AR/VR space. Pipeline names co-founder Stefan Ramsbott as CTO

Pipeline, a Denver-based startup on a mission to close the gender gap and eradicate gender bias through its SaaS platform, announced that co-founder Stefan Ramsbott will take on the full-time role of chief technology officer. Zayo Group acquires another high-fiber network, continues buying spree

In yet another buyout, Zayo Group announced this week that it planned to buy Neutral Path Communications and Near North Partners of Mankato, Minnesota for a total of $31.5 million. Neutral Path owns and operates 452 miles of fiber network in the Midwest, including a route from Minneapolis to Omaha. Arrow and Cadence team up to create tool that accelerates circuit board design

This week, Arrow Electronics and Cadence Design Systems launched their Cadence OrCAD Entrepreneur package, a tool for Arrow.com's Design Center. Arrow said the software suite enables circuit board designers to move from design to prototype in half the time, when compared to the traditional process of manually designing and simulating across separate systems.
