In a world where people are eager to give back, time off for volunteering is becoming a stand-out perk for the charitable jobseeker. We’re now seeing more and more companies go beyond simply writing a check — and they’re getting employees involved, too. See which Colorado tech companies give their employees time off to volunteer in the local community.



What they do: iTriage created a mobile and web-based healthtech application that helps people track and manage their healthcare.

Volunteer perks: One paid volunteer day per quarter. Past activities have included charitable hackathons and Habit for Humanity builds.

Other perks: 401(k) match, company-provided EcoPass, onsite gym, free lunch Fridays, tuition and certification reimbursement.



What they do: Hotel Engine supports the traveling workforce with its business-focused hotel booking platform.

Volunteer perks: Regular company-sponsored volunteer opportunities.

What they do: AppliedTrust delivers IT infrastructure, security and compliance services to organizations in a range of industries, including education, healthcare, technology and finance.

Volunteer perks: A paid volunteer day off each year, in addition to other charitable work supported by the company. In the past, AppliedTrust has also offered employer matching for charitable donations to fundraisers like Colorado Gives Day.

What they do: Tendril applies behavioral science and technology to the energy sector, delivering a personalized consumer experience that helps people manage their energy efficiency and goals.
