5 backers raised $200 of $5,000 with 59 days to go
This Kickstarter is the brainchild of a Mechanical Engineering senior design team at the University of Colorado. They want to create a concept pod for Elon Musk’s Hyperloop, the subsonic rapid tube transit system that the eccentric billionaire is hoping to build down the middle of California’s I-5. Ok, so maybe Mr. Musk should be shelling out the $5,000, but how cool would it be if the technology came from Colorado instead of Silicon Valley?

NOTIFYOU+iBeacon - The Next Generation Reminder Tool
53 backers raised $3,693 of $25,000 with 22 days to go
Let’s be honest, currently available notification apps don’t really work. This Kickstarter promises to fix that by using a combination of a custom built smartphone app, and a piece of Bluetooth enabled hardware. Basically, you’ll set up a reminder and when you get close to an iBeacon, it’ll light up. Good luck ignoring a reminder when it’s flashing in your face.

Outrageously COMFY Adult Onesies
135 backers raised $13,542 of $12,000 with 9 days to go
You may have seen this company in our article about outrageous and oddball startups. As it turns out, it is outrageous, oddball and in high demand. But seriously, who could resist a zebra printed fleece onesie that is custom designed for cold weather? The makers point out that the zebra print makes a statement, though they don’t elaborate as to just what that statement is. I can foresee a bright future for these at college dorms everywhere.

Mojo Box - Solar Charger & Bluetooth Speaker & Smart Box
47 backers raised $6,154 or $1,000 with 6 days to go
That this project is fully funded should come as no surprise — its core concept is brilliant. It is a portable, smart carrying-case for your electronics. The box includes speakers, has solar charging capabilities, an LED flashlight, and is highly water-resistant. If you ever head into the mountains, you’ll want this. While the project has been fully funded six times over, they’re still letting people who pledge over $100 have one early, and at almost half off.

25 backers raised $1,538 of $25,000 with 31 days to go
There’s been a lot of connected pet tech devices coming out recently — who knows, maybe we’re witnessing the birth of the Internet of Pets. This smart tag tracks your pet’s daily feeding, play, love and exercise schedules. It is made of ‘dog durable’ TPE rubber and even comes with an accelerometer to track your dog’s walks. A dog Fitbit might sound a bit ridiculous, but at $25 a pop they’re certainly priced to entice.
