Since logistics involves transporting freight, usually by trailer or rail, there is significant demand for tech to keep operations running smoothly and ensure products are delivered on time. Two logistics companies that provide technology and consulting services for the industry are joining forces to serve clients better.
Spinnaker SCA is a Boulder-based company that offers end-to-end supply chain strategy, planning and consulting services. The company was created in 2021 after the merger of SCApath and Spinnaker. Spinnaker SCA announced on Monday that it acquired Accelogix, a North Carolina-based logistics tech company.
Its acquisition of Accelogix was largely due to Accelogix’s Blue Yonder platform that tracks worker productivity in warehouse settings.
“Helping our clients define and implement business and technology strategies that connect end-to-end supply chain planning and execution is Spinnaker SCA’s specialty,” John Sharkey, Spinnaker SCA’s CEO, said in a statement. “The Accelogix team has a strong reputation for customer service, helping clients deal with challenging technical problems to automate and optimize critical distribution and order fulfillment capabilities.”
Besides developing tech solutions for the logistics industry, Accelogix also helps companies adopt robotics and automation systems into their supply chain operations.
Accelogix’s staff will join Spinnaker SCA’s Supply Chain Execution practice, and its CEO, Seth Patin, will serve as an advisor to Spinnaker SCA.
Terms of the acquisition were not made public by the time of publication.
