Several Colorado-based tech companies keep busy during Thanksgiving week by completing acquisitions or announcing executive hirings. Read up TeamSnap’s acquisition of LeagueSide, or catch up on Xero’s newly appointed CEO. This is the Built In Colorado Weekly Refresh. 

TeamSnap acquired LeagueSide. Sports management software TeamSnap acquired LeagueSide, a tech platform that connects young athletes to sponsorship opportunities. Terms of the acquisition were not made public. With the acquisition, TeamSnap will now provide its 19,000 sports organizations with countless sponsorship opportunities. [PR Newswire]

Nixplay announced plans to raise capital. Nixplay, which relocated to Denver in July, makes smart photo frames that display images from a customer’s social media accounts. Now, the company is looking to raise a Series A round. Nixplay was founded in 2104 and has previously raised $2.7 million in seed funding. [Denver Bussiness Journal]

Denver witnessed an office leasing boost. A new report by CBRE revealed that Denver saw an increase in office rentals between 2020 and 2021. According to the report, the city saw an increase of 10.3 percent in office rentals and was ranked behind Vancouver, Boston, Dallas, Nashville and Seattle. The Denver Bussiness Journal reported that CBRE ranked cities based on rental and labor data. [Denver Bussiness Journal]

Xero appointed new CEO. Xero is an accounting startup offering services for small businesses. The company, which is dually headquartered in Denver and New Zealand, appointed Sukhinder Singh Cassidy as its new CEO. She previously held an executive position at Stubhub and also launched several startups. In addition to bringing on Singh Cassidy, Xero is currently hiring for several positions. [Xero]
