The pandemic prompted many companies to shift to a remote work environment, but it also reminded the world about the importance of in-person medical care.

Because location is still a significant factor in a physician’s job search, Greenwood Village-based MedGeo Ventures has developed a map-based career exploration platform that medical associations can use on their websites.

MedGeo announced Tuesday it has raised $4 million as part of a joint venture agreement with Jackson Physician Search, a physician recruitment firm. The company said it will use the new funding to grow its presence in the marketplace.

In addition to the map feature, MedGeo provides comprehensive data and insights on employers. It also allows physicians to tailor their notifications and to engage with employers before applying for a position. Additional features include expert insights into market trends and compensation expectations from professionals in the medical recruitment field.

MedGeo CEO Deanna Bassett said in a statement that she is excited to partner with Jackson Physician Search, which she said has been a reputable leader in the industry for decades.

“With this investment of capital, expertise and services, we are helping medical associations compete and win,” Bassett said. “Winning translates to more value for members and additional revenue for associations.”
