Colorado tech companies made headlines last week with funding rounds, acquisitions and product launches. Read on to learn which companies are growing and hiring. This is the Built In Colorado Weekly Refresh. 

On the Barrelhead was acquired by NerdWallet. On the Barrelhead is a Durango-based robo-advisor platform that helps consumers and small and midsize businesses get loans. NerdWallet acquired the startup for $120 million, which includes $70 million in cash and $50 million in NerdWallet stock. [Built In Colorado]

Fermyon Technologies raised $6M. The Longmont-based cloud computing company uses the WebAssembly coding environment to allow developers to build microservices faster. The company hopes to hire 15 people this year following its $6 million seed investment. [TechCrunch]

Lightning eMotors deployed shuttles for Bay Area tech companies. Lightning eMotors, a Loveland-based manufacturer of zero-emissions commercial vehicles and electric vehicle technology, has repurposed the gasoline and diesel-run shuttles that Silicon Valley tech companies use to transport their employees. Lightning eMotors partnered with ABC Companies to convert the vans and motorcoaches to all-electric, zero-emissions vehicles. [Lightning eMotors]

Built In Colorado introduced its Future 5 companies for Q2. To celebrate the close of the second quarter, Built In Colorado is highlighting five early-stage companies that have not yet raised a Series A funding round. A new app launched to help Denver couples come up with date night ideas. Local entrepreneur Jesse Truax launched an app called Date Night Denver to connect couples with local restaurants and other businesses rated 4.2 stars or higher on Google’s five-star customer review scale.
