The weather might have taken a cooler turn with some welcomed rain in parts of the state over the weekend, but there’s excitement in Denver as the Colorado Avalanche captured their third NHL Stanley Cup on Sunday. SumUp raised $624MWith the fresh infusion of capital, SumUp now stands at a valuation of $8.5 billion. Originally started a decade ago, the London-based company with an office in Boulder serves 35 markets and upwards of 4 million small and medium businesses. SumUp’s dongles transform smartphones to act as credit card payment terminals. The additional capital, which comes in the form of 50 percent equity and 50 percent debt, is aimed at future acquisitions and developing more organic products. SumUp also plans to add new staff to the current 3,000 employees and is actively hiring. [TechCrunch]

Gtmhub acquired Cliff.aiGtmhub, headquartered in Denver, assists companies with tracking objectives and key results (OKRs). Cliff.ai is a U.K. company specializing in tracking and analyzing irregularities in performance metrics. Hue Health and Banner Health launched a primary care health planLaunched by Hue Health, a direct primary care company, and Banner Health, a nonprofit healthcare system, 39North gets its name from the northern Colorado latitude that it serves.
