Boulder-based Charlotte’s Web is getting innovative when it comes to retail and educating consumers. The CBD brand announced Thursday a new in-store kiosk and virtual “Learning Lab.”
“Charlotte’s Web is relentless in our commitment to hemp CBD access and education for everyone, which these innovations ingeniously and conveniently provide,” Deanie Elsner, CEO and president of Charlotte’s Web, said in a statement. “We will continue to develop innovative ways to support our retail partners as they welcome back shoppers to their stores.”
The in-store, self-serve kiosk will sell hemp CBD products that have “undergone rigorous testing processes,” according to a news release. More than 30 Charlotte’s Web products have been approved for sale in the kiosk.
The kiosk also features a 50-inch interactive video screen allowing customers to learn more about the products. According to the release, this is the first kiosk of its kind on the market. The company did not say where the kiosks will initially be located or how many will be installed in retail locations.
The company’s second new initiative is an online education platform called the Learning Lab. The platform, used by retail employees, managers and buyers, aims to increase the user’s knowledge about hemp-derived CBD. The learning modules cover the science, safety and quality standards of CBD in addition to the history of Charlotte’s Web.
“We believe the education provided in our Learning Lab helps retail staff to know the facts and the science of hemp CBD,” Jen Palmer, director of education at Charlotte’s Web, said in a statement. “In doing so, in-store shoppers can make more informed decisions for their wellness needs.”
Charlotte’s Web was founded in 2013 by the Stanley Brothers. The company, which is also a Certified B Corporation, sells CBD gummies, creams and lotions, capsules, oils and even CBD dog treats. Products can be found at more than 22,000 retail locations across the U.S.
