Slack just joined other investors to drop $1.6 million in software sales platform Demoflow.

Founded by longtime enterprise sales software representative Larson Stair, the Denver company plans to invest the seed round in developing its software and staffing up to meet rising demand. As the world continues to run remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, Stair said Demoflow views it as a chance to expand beyond B2B SaaS sales.

“We see this as a huge opportunity to help out many different organizations who aren’t innately remote by nature,” Stair told Built In. “We want to basically set the standard for how these organizations should run their remote presentations.”

Since its launch in January, Stair said Demoflow has signed on 28 customers, including the Cupertino-based SugarCRM customer management platform. He credited the move to remote work for driving growth to the platform, as well as the platform’s ability to allow multiple individuals to run a single presentation at once — unlike “status quo” competitors like Google Slides and Powerpoint.

“We’re really competing against the status quo, and trying to get people to see a new way of doing things and changing their behavior, to adopt a tool that can help them save time, close more deals and drive more revenue,” Stair said.

The startup plans to spend the seed round on deepening its integrations with Zoom and Slack, as well as growing its headcount. The three-person company aims to triple in size by the end of the year, and is hiring engineers, marketers, business development professionals and more.

FirstMile Ventures led the round, with participation from Slack Fund, RTP Seed, Next Frontier Capital and Heroic Ventures.
