A Boulder recruiting company just announced a new program to help recent college grads start their careers in the tech industry.
Creative Alignments has opened applications to its inaugural CA Launch program, a six-week career accelerator that offers participants tech industry mentorship and connections to career opportunities.
CEO Peggy Shell said Creative Alignments welcomes any individual interested in working in tech to participate in the program. The initiative is not only for wannabe software engineers — the firm will offer mentorship to individuals who want to work in areas ranging from biotech to Internet of Things, and help participants find roles in engineering, sales, finance and more.
For an hour every day Monday through Friday, recent college graduates will meet with mentors, sharpen their interviewing skills and refine their resumes. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, CA Launch will also teach recent grads how to navigate a new job market marked by remote interviewing and distributed work.
Unlike most recruiting firms that pocket a percentage of a new hire’s first-year salary, Creative Alignments charges companies based on the amount of time it takes to fill a role.
The new program — which runs from August 10 to September 17 — will accept eight individuals, and five of the spaces have already been filled. The entry fee for recent grads who want to participate in this first program is essentially dependent on the individual participant, Shell said.
“You tell us what you want to pay and can pay,” she told Colorado Inno. “It’s not just needs-based, you tell us the price and we’re going to say OK to that.”
Founded in 2010, Creative Alignments has offices in Boulder, Denver, Chicago and Austin, and helps national and global companies fill open roles. The company has worked with Crocs, Halo Top Creamery, RX Bar and more.
