Cloud accounting software company Xero said goodbye to its Denver Tech Center digs on Monday and said hello to a shiny, new, 30,000-square-foot office space in Downtown Denver.

The company made the announcement this morning, revealing plans to double its workforce in the city and dramatically expand its Americas HQ. The office will accommodate as many as 300 employees, including the roughly 150 employees that previously sat in its DTC office.

The urban location increases Xero’s exposure to the Denver tech community, as well as its access to top talent, and further positions the business for growth.

We set out to find a new space that would not only facilitate our growing team but enable us to do beautiful business in close proximity to all that Denver has to offer.”

“Denver is an amazing place to live and work, making it a fantastic hub for Xero’s Americas HQ,” said Xero’s Americas VP of People and Business Operations, Andy Burner, in a statement. “Knowing that we were going to outgrow our former space, we set out to find a new space that would not only facilitate our growing team but enable us to do beautiful business in close proximity to all that Denver has to offer. We have found all of that and more in our new space. We can’t wait to contribute to the local small business and accounting scene on an even bigger scale.”

The company opened its customer experience office in DTC in 2013 and made Denver its official Americas headquarters last year, bringing in talent across all departments. Since then, the company has quickly grown its Denver presence and worked to establish itself as a local leader in the tech community.

The office itself boasts state-of-the-art amenities and a unique, coworking space-type vibe. Rather than assigning desks to employees, Xero will encourage them to move throughout the office and choose a work area that suits them given the task at hand. There are quiet spaces for phone calls and focused work, private rooms for virtual and in-person meetings, collaboration spaces such as booths and tables, and open desks in team “neighborhoods.”

The space will also feature startup must-haves like an espresso machine, ping pong table and putting green.

Located in LoHi’s new Circa Building on Platte Street, Xero’s office is located at the base of the pedestrian bridge from downtown to the Highlands. A seven-minute walk from Union Station, the new location provides ready access to places like the Pepsi Centre, Coors Field, the Platte River North Bike Trail, Commons Park and the West Rail Line.

Xero joins several other high-growth tech companies that have expanded their footprints in Denver recently, including Facebook, Slack and Xero partner, Gusto. The company recently announced a strategic partnership with Gusto, using its platform as the preferred payroll provider for Xero’s small business and accountant customers in the U.S.

“Innovative, high-growth companies like Xero are driving economic growth even further in our city center,” said Tami Door, president and CEO of the Downtown Denver Partnership in the statement. “The Downtown Denver Partnership is thrilled to welcome Xero to Downtown Denver and we look forward to working closely together on our shared goal of building an even more robust, vibrant tech scene.”
