With a record-low unemployment rate and a booming tech economy, there is no shortage of opportunity for the tech-savvy jobseeker in Colorado. But finding a job that checks off all your “must-haves” (and let’s be honest, some of your “nice-to-haves” too) can be tedious.

But this month you’re in luck. We’ve boiled down the search to five companies we know you’ll love — and they’re all hiring like crazy.

What they do: Fanatics is one of the largest distributors of licensed sports merchandise, taking a tech-driven approach that enables them to deliver both fan favorites and timely new products on-demand.

Coolest perks: Unlimited PTO, 401(k) match, discounted merchandise, room to grow and innovate

Hiring tip: “Fanatics is hiring talented engineers of all levels who are hungry to learn new technologies and apply them to difficult problems at a global scale,” said Jim Oxenhandler, Fanatics’ director of engineering. “We look for engineers who love technology and want to learn. We have found that those skills are far more important than current tech stack, where you graduated or years of experience! If you are excited about technology and want to work for the leader in licensed sports merchandise, then Fanatics needs you!”

What they do: Travelers Haven — and sister company Hotel Engine — make finding and managing short-term corporate housing simpler and more streamlined with a full-service booking platform tailored to businesses.

Coolest perks: Craft beers and ciders on tap, free monthly massages, paid gym membership, paid volunteer opportunities

Hiring tip: “Do your research and include a strong, recent portfolio (for applicable roles),” said Rachel Meyer, director of talent management for Travelers Haven and Hotel Engine. “As a two-person HR team that personally reviews every resume, there is no quicker way to the trash can than a candidate who blindly applies to a role without any supporting material or customization. I’ve had candidates personally hand-deliver their resume and/or package it in a creative way, which always gets them a second look — if not an automatic interview — for the extra effort.”

opentable-team-TCH.jpg

What they do: OpenTable connects people to the restaurants they know and love — as well as the ones they’ve yet discovered. Users can find restaurants in their area, read reviews and book a reservation right online. They have two offices in Denver (one in LoDo and one in South Denver) and they’re hiring tons of new customer support and sales reps.

Coolest perks: Parental leave, 401(k) match, company stock options

Hiring tip: "I look for potential team members with a passion to provide an exceptional customer service experience on each and every call,” said Anthony Renzulli, customer support operations manager. “Being passionate about the tech space and willing to learn will absolutely help your career progression with us, but that service bias is what sets our top performers apart."

Note from the boss: "We help restaurateurs put the power of OpenTable to work for their business,” said Andrea Johnston, SVP of global sales and customer support. “We’re looking for Inside Sales Professionals to help us grow our restaurant network and impact, Customer Support Representatives to ensure our restaurants have exceptional support around the clock, and Customer Success Specialists to deliver our customers the help they need to succeed with OpenTable. If you’re a food enthusiast, a restaurant veteran, or a technology lover with relevant experience, a strong track record, and great customer relationships, we invite you to explore our opportunities.’

healthgrades-TCH.JPG

What they do: Healthgrades provides an online platform for reviewing and researching healthcare professionals and hospitals in your area.

Coolest perks: Tuition assistance, paid volunteer time, on-site gym, downtown Denver location, discounts on things like movie tickets, ski passes and amusement parks.

Hiring tip: “I look at someone’s skillset as both a differentiator (e.g. all other things being equal, the better skill match wins) and as an indicator of how quickly and comprehensively someone can acquire the skills necessary to effectively contribute to a team,” said Troy Hall, Healthgrades’ director of software engineering. “That said, talent and culture fit are arguably the most important things I look for.”

the-trade-desk-TCH.jpg

What they do: The Trade Desk brings Big Data to the adtech industry with its demand-side advertising platform that enables buyers to more effectively manage their ad campaigns.

Coolest perks: Flexible hours, nerf wars, dog-friendly office, stock options

Hiring Manager Tip: “When talking to candidates, we look for strong technical understanding, emotional intelligence, perseverance and creativity,” said Matt Cochran, principal lead software engineer for The Trade Desk Boulder. “You need the technical understanding to anticipate the problems you might encounter, the EQ and perseverance to push through when you’ve made a mistake, and the creativity to overcome the problems in a new way.”
