Pie raises an additional $127M in funding

Pie Insurance is an insurtech company tackling meaningful problems. At Pie, we work with small businesses using technology and innovation to improve how they access insurance. Like our small business clients, we are a diverse team of builders, dreamers, and entrepreneurs. So, at the heart of every decision we make is the idea that if it doesn’t serve our clients, it doesn’t serve us.

A majority of Pie’s current and future premium is expected to come from distribution partners such as retail agents, wholesale agents, and alternative relationships such as clusters and aggregators. As an extension of Pie, these distribution partners must operate with a customer- first mentality and share Pie’s goal for disciplined profitable underwriting. Our Business Development Associate role is charged with managing the success of these relationships within a specified segment of our partner channel.

Today, all Pie-oneers are working remotely and will continue to do so until it is safe to return to the office. As a remote team member, you will be expected to be available for meetings with team members in other time zones and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.

We will consider this role for continued remote work in the United States once our offices reopen with up to 10% travel to Denver and/or DC.

How You'll Do It:

  • Effectively assist in the onboarding and training of our new agency partners to ensure their early success
  • Effectively transition partners from onboarding to an engaged status in their partnership with Pie.

  • Drive submissions into Pie through strategic thinking, and measurable activities
  • High frequency call out cadence to users who quote, sell, or manage at our partner agencies and drive submissions into Pie.
  • Empower partners with knowledge and updates to keep Pie top of mind in an effort to be the first carrier option approached for their submissions.
  • Identify creative solutions we can provide partners to make a positive impact in goal attainment.
  • Build out a future pipeline for partners that is trackable and can be followed up on.
  • Manage and track all initiatives, tasks and activities via Salesforce.

  • Utilize data to uncover trends, drive strategy and maximize attainment within the territory.
  • Collaborate with the Pie policyholder services, underwriting, marketing and development teams to develop, manage, and drive distribution partner premium generation.
