Software Product Manager

Position Description:
The Software Product Manager is responsible for leveraging the product roadmap and vision and establishing a cohesive, innovative and industry leading software strategy and implementation directly in alignment with Zayo’s strategic goals. This position is functionally aligned to Product Line Management and works in collaboration with Network Planning and Software Architecture in order to deliver product lifecycle and network automation solutions that drive an accelerated delivery time for strategic product offerings. They manage strategy, coordination and effective handoff to software development teams while overseeing the full project lifecycle as well as messaging and communications with users (internal/ external) for all updates, changes, bugs, planned maintenance, outages and feature releases while maintaining an up to date knowledge base. This position works in an agile development environment, interfacing with scrum masters and acting as the software product owner within the designated scrum teams.
Qualifications:
Execute on a highly iterative and innovative Product and Network Automation strategy driving a drastic decrease in delivery times of highly virtualized products
Outstanding organizational skills, highly resourceful and proven project management.
Own and cohesive software implementation plan that directly supports the needs of Product Line Management including but not limited to project design, assignment, and prioritization, ensuring every project adheres to the below requirements:
Project priority is clearly understood and reflected at all times
Project justification includes support via either data analytics or specific use case (ideally both)
Business and technical requirements are clearly and completely identified and reviewed with stakeholders prior to assignment to IT development team scrum master
Works with Product Design to get approval and firm wireframing and mockups for UI/UX
Process flowcharts are included in design (where applicable)
User Acceptance testing plan created and attached prior to beginning UAT phase of project
Ensures broad endorsement / adoption of all initiatives
- Project / Roadmap visibility for all stakeholders and executives
Coordinates with Network Planning and Capacity Management to ensure software readiness and success rate of automation
Deep understanding of the people and cultural norms that are behind our values, processes & technologies.
Strong analytical business acumen and financial aptitude.
Understanding of Telecommunications technologies: Connectivity, Colocation and Cloud products and Quote to Cash process.
Active involvement in broader network automation community outside of Zayo including MEF, TMForum and new technology deployments
Proficient in interpreting business and technical requirements and making decisions that are optimal for Zayo’s vision.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Software Requirements and go-to-market strategy: ensure requirements are clearly understood by software engineering teams in order to execute on business vision. Partner with stakeholders in order to ensure smooth go to market of new software releases.
Operational efficiency: drives high-impact organizational and operational efficiency initiatives that improve customer experience, employee engagement & profitability.
Strategic Planning and Implementation: partner with leadership to cross-cut existing organizations and deliver high impact processes. Develop growth strategies for areas of responsibility and provides business rationale, suggested priority and risk assessment aligned with Zayo’s business strategy.
Data analysis: gather and analyze large amounts of information expeditiously, developing compelling, insightful recommendations.
Problem Solving: approaches problems in rational manner using sound strategies that ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution.

Process Enablement and Communication: write a variety of executive, customer & training presentations and reporting across organizations. Develop and operate forums for effective communication – Chatter Groups, Google Sites, Webinars, releases, agendas.
Status Reports: provide real-time and current information on all deliverables, while monitoring and evaluating activity / progress on projects to determine need for change / escalation.
Base salary range: $92,000- $122,700
Education
Undergraduate degree in an engineering, computer science, management or technical field is a plus
