POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Business Architect will focus on current technology projects that are already well down the path of requirements definition and implementation to add a cross-functional view of business process enablement and Organizational Change Management (the people side of change). We want to ensure we have a holistic view across these strategic projects in these areas:
  • Scalable organization structure, short-term set of deliverables, how we build our teams to meet this need, prioritize execution, and approach to create teams to accomplish this work.
  • Business processes that enable people's jobs (and make them easier and more automated), removing manual processes and bottlenecks that affect future scalability
  • Core data and source of record alignment for Archer's business requirements
  • Enablement of reporting to support business decision-making in all areas of the business
  • Integration needs and long-term scalability, specifically focused on aligning across differing manufacturing and quality/regulatory requirements
  • Ensure we meet core business process needs to scale now and into the future (with consideration that the process needs to be scalable for people and technology over time

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job performance will involve a variety of activities including:

  • Capture / catalog the organization's People and Process, with Technologies, to build a cohesive shared vision that enables progress towards systems and strategic goals:
  • Focus initially on the large segments of responsibility that enable core business processes and how business processes relate to each other, with a view of business process maturity, bottlenecks, business process automation needs and current to future roadmap (prioritized)
  • Balance business priorities and timelines, current projects, identifying quick wins that add more immediate value
  • Focus on cross-functional business process maturity and automation
  • With consideration of needs for scalability and future growth
  • Engage the teams who do the work
  • Includes strategic alignment with:
  • Business Strategy and direction
  • Integration requirements
  • Data needs
  • Organizational Change Management needs, how change impacts people, evolving competencies and training
  • Technology and infrastructure requirements
  • Compliance and regulatory needs (specifically looking at managing PII and Payor information)
  • Works with teams to model core business processes across the enterprise rather than within the silo of a single view
  • Build an accurate picture of the totality of business processes and needs versus individual siloed office tasks
  • Working with the Data Architect, identify Source of Record for data, data flow and integration needs between systems that enable business process automation
  • Where there are gaps, potential bottlenecks, manual processes, spreadsheets, and people doing one-offs
  • Link together business process with technology evolution
  • Enables core systems project as well as business continuity planning
  • Helps to identify business process maturation and training needs across teams
  • Establishes a road map for current and future evolution of business processes and the systems that support them, to meet future company growth and needs
  • Safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information and European Union personal data.
  • Processing and handling of European Union personal data only as directed by ArcherDX for purposes of personalized molecular pathology.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the diagnostic or pharmaceutical industry. A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
  • The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies
  • Strong interpersonal, team working, and leadership skills.
  • The ability to visualize and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture
  • Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives
  • Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
  • Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities with the ability to lead a cross-functional team (assay development, laboratory, clinical, software, etc.) through a complex planning and deployment process.
  • The ability to forge strong internal and external partnerships coupled with excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, team working, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent work planning and execution/delivery skills – includes problem solving, prioritization, and task-level influence skills.

EDUCATION:   

  • BS/MS/PhD preferred with relevant training in Chemistry, Manufacturing, and/or Biological Sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Project management certification (PMP®, PRINCE2®) or equivalent


In Colorado, our competitive compensation package includes a base salary starting from $129,000 per year.  In determining the final salary offered, we will evaluate a specific candidate's geographic location, education, skills, and experience.
