Head of Risk Operations

Maintaining our customer’s trust is critical to Gusto’s business, and with your help, we will scale Gusto’s Risk Operations team to handle our next phase of growth.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
Leverage your expertise. Utilize your deep industry knowledge to help drive our Risk Operations roadmap.
Build scalable systems. Implement new, scalable features and processes that will be able to handle our next phase of growth.
Lead and scale an awesome team. You’ll lead our growing Risk Operations team. The team is composed of hard working and fun individuals that know how to get stuff done.
Work collaboratively. Work directly with our Risk product and engineering teams and Risk Data Science team to ensure that we are keeping our customers, and Gusto, safe. One team, one dream.
You’re the go-to Gustie. Interact with internal teams from across the entire company to expertly field, diagnose and resolve payment related questions.
Here’s what we're looking for:
- Experience. 10+ years of relevant experience at a FinTech firm in a Risk/Fraud role. 5+ years managing a team of managers.
- Analytical capabilities: You always leverage data to help inform your decisions. You’re an expert in extracting and manipulating data to inform insights, set KPIs, and OKRs.
- You’re a builder. You love building scalable systems and processes from the ground up.
- Natural curiosity and attention to detail. If something seems off, you want to figure out what’s going on and, more importantly, why and how to solve it.
- Self-starter mentality. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment with the capacity to thrive under ambiguity.
- Communication. The ability to explain Risk issues in a simple, clear and concise manner.
- World-class leader. You love building and coaching teams to be operationally excellent. You’re recognized as a star leader and mentor to your organization.
- Bonus points: Previous experience working at a FinTech
