We’re a high growth company enabling IT teams to discover, manage & secure the growing stack of SaaS apps in the digital workplace, and are seeking an enterprising person to guide our technology team as our Chief Architect.  As our Chief Architect, you will report directly to the CTO and work across the organization to ensure we are building a compelling, collaborative, and innovative technical strategy aligned to our corporate mission -- building the SaaSOps movement and fostering the SaaSOps community.

About You

The ideal candidate will have multiple years of experience setting a technical vision, communicating that vision and helping a SaaS organization(s) to rapidly scale their platform in support of rapid growth of a business. You have a passion in multiple technologies while prioritizing and enjoying coaching and mentoring engineers. Some experience that will be helpful to succeed in this role:

• Leverage your experience building highly scalable and performant integration frameworks.
• Built or led strategy in data analytics, ML and AI platforms that deliver enhanced customer value.
• Implemented technical strategies in rapidly scaling SaaS multi-tenant architectures.
• Created, documented and continuously communicated a technical vision across all internal and external audiences.

What You'll Do

• Gain a deep understanding of the company's business strategy combined with a deep intuition of the emerging technology trends, to advise BetterCloud executives on key strategic guidance in the context of technology.
• Coach technologists across the organization to conceive strategic vision on technology and update documentation, designs, and wikis on a regular basis.
• Partner with other product and engineering leaders to strategically map out the execution plans and deliver observable progress towards the long term vision month over month.
• Effectively learn BetterCloud’s engineering systems/designs as needed and provide insightful, comprehensive, honest, and pragmatic feedback, which is highly valued by the organization.
• Gain recognition internally and externally for technical excellence by promoting and sharing BetterCloud’s technical vision and acumen via partnering and collaborating with the Communications team.
• Manage and support a team of cross discipline architects and engineers to define, implement and experiment with new technical solutions that shape the future of the BetterCloud architecture.
• Identify or evaluate technical partnerships, emergent technologies and M&A opportunities.
• Partner with product management to define scaling, performance, and data evolution.
• Own the technical roadmap, multi-year architectural strategy, and engineering standards that will guide BetterCloud to the next stages of growth communicated across all levels of the business.
• Define and own the open source strategy for BetterCloud balancing utilization and contributions within that strategy for engineering teams.
• Partner with the legal team to create and lead the patent process for BetterCloud.
