Job Description About the role

The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for timely and accurate global payroll processing. You will be involved in all aspects of payroll (US and international) and assisting in month-end close, audit and system implementations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and analytical. You should have exceptional communication skills and the ability to think outside the box. The Senior Payroll Analyst will report directly to the Global Payroll Manager and will work cross-functionally with our People Operations, Accounting and Sales Commissions teams. 

As a Sr. Payroll Analyst at Fivetran, you will: 

  • Prepare and process global payrolls for 500+ employees using Namely, Vistra Overseas Connect and Elements ApprovPay
  • Input payroll changes such as bonuses, commissions, LOAs, stock exercises, and garnishments 
  • Maintain payroll master file to ensure accurate payroll reconciliation for each pay period
  • Assist with the registration for new State/SUI/Local payroll tax as needed 
  • Responsible for calculating terminations and initiating wire transfer requests 
  • Maintenance and training of employees/managers in Namely Timecards
  • Partner with PeopleOps and external vendors on employee benefits such as LOAs
  • Respond to employee inquiries and requests in a timely manner
  • Partner with third party payroll providers in preparation and reconciliation of international payrolls
  • Be able to research payroll issues independently, demonstrating high analytical ability, knowledge of best practices, and an understanding of federal and state payroll tax and labor law developments
  • Assist with payroll journal entries, accruals and reconciliations in NetSuite and Floqast
  • Assist with external audits by providing supporting records and documentations

What you bring to the table: 

  • 5+ years of relevant payroll experience processing multi-state payroll for 500+ US and international employees
  • Proficient in Excel (Vlookups, Pivot tables and other formulas) and Google Sheets
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as ability to collaborate closely with other teams remotely
  • Experience with high-growth companies and adaptable to a fast-changing work environment 
  • Experience working with distributed teams 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and judgment
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and completeness
  • Knowledge and mindset for automation and improvements to streamline processes for scalability
  • Understanding of accounting, taxation, and finance concepts as it relates to payroll

Nice-to-haves:

  • Workday payroll experience
  • Payroll system implementation experience 
  • CPP or FPC designation  
  • NetSuite experience
