Summary:
Prairie Mountain Media (PMM) Account Executives sell PMM's portfolio of advertising solutions, with a heavy concentration on print and digital initiatives. Candidates in this position are responsible for servicing the territory's existing accounts while also targeting new business.
Must be in Metro Denver area, prefer Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer or Weld counties.
What you will do:
- Deliver against monthly sales goals and pipeline commitments
- Drive the relationship from start to finish, including ad scheduling and managing creative assets
- Work independently, making sound business decisions related to achieving revenue goals while communicating with your manager each day to discuss strategy, forecasting and other key issues
- Strategically prospect for new accounts, conduct needs assessments to determine customer needs, generate ideas and proposals, present recommendations, close the sale and set client expectations
- Analyze clients' advertising business objectives in order to prepare creative solutions by using all appropriate products and services to fit the advertisers' budget and campaign goals
- Own the sales and retention cycle for each campaign working in conjunction with the assigned support and operations teams
- Meet with individual clients at appropriate frequencies (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.) to review schedules, budgets and create new strategies
- Prepare and develop sales recommendations using our resources by gathering appropriate statistics concerning market share, demographics, market volume and various platform effectiveness
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of product features and benefits, rates, and packages and explain them in a way to match recommendations to customer needs
- Use training resources to become proficient in all advertising solutions and processes
- Meet deadlines, create accurate advertising orders, and submit client contracts and complet sales reporting in a timely manner
- Monitor other media to identify business prospects, attend local or category business events for networking opportunities and stay up-to-date with industry trends
What you will bring:
- Proficient in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Email and Hangouts).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors or Associates degree preferred.
- 1+ year retail, customer service, or face-to-face sales experience required
- The ability to problem solve
- Curious, willing and able to learn quickly
- Motivated by selling, enjoy on-going professional development
- Work well within a deadline environment and a changing marketplace
Travel
- 50-80% Locally (managing your territory, calling on clients, attending association/chamber/community events)
The hourly wage is $14.42. This position is eligible for incentive compensation (commission), cell phone, and mileage reimbursement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
