Architects, implements, verifies, and integrates high-performance FPGA networking solutions for space-based electronic systems. Designs Ethernet datapaths, packet switching fabrics, routing and queuing logic, protocol offload functions, and high-speed interfaces using AMD Xilinx technologies. Performs RTL coding, simulation, timing closure, board bring-up, system debugging, and documentation. Collaborates with hardware and software teams, supports laboratory validation, and mentors junior engineers serving DoD, intelligence, and civil space customers.

Designs and verifies FPGA-based image, video, sensor-processing, and compression systems for space applications. Responsibilities include adapting MATLAB algorithms, performing fixed-point and word-length optimization, developing VHDL/Verilog RTL and SystemVerilog testbenches, validating hardware against golden models, debugging with FPGA tools, documenting designs, leading reviews, and mentoring engineers. The role focuses on AMD Xilinx FPGA platforms and high-throughput, low-latency processing architectures for DoD, intelligence, and civil space customers.

Own and govern the Altium component library and Enterprise Server. Create and verify IPC space-grade footprints, enforce EEE-INST-002 Level 3 selections, manage automotive/COTS up-screening and PEM governance, embed derating rules, track lifecycles/obsolescence, enforce part request workflows, and support manufacturing integration and occasional travel.

Lead early-phase concept development for software-defined space processors and satellite battery systems. Engage customers, develop architectures, feasibility studies, white papers, and proposals; scout COTS technologies and adapt them for space, prioritize SWaP reductions, partner with BD to shape capture strategies, and drive concepts into executable programs while supporting travel and cross-functional collaboration.

Lead systems engineering for advanced space electronics, owning requirements, system analyses, trades, technical baselines, and verification. Guide multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software/firmware) from concept through qualification and delivery, support proposals and IR&D, present at design reviews, and act as program technical champion.
