CTO Pat Lorton doesn’t have a traditional mission at Schrödinger — an aspect of the job he favors. “We’re approaching a problem with nearly infinite scale: Finding the best molecule in a space of 1060 possibilities, making predictions and filtering the right level of information,” he said. By harnessing cloud tech like Kafka and Kubernetes, teams can accurately predict chemical properties and scale calculations to develop impactful solutions. “It’s a challenge on every level, but the results are incredibly impressive, greatly speeding up our development of potential disease treatments.”

Our AutoDesigner project pulls our products together, automating huge swaths of drug design into one gigantic-scale workflow to accurately sample more chemical space than anyone has done before.
