Zhang’s favorite remote perk? “SALTcoin.” Each month, employees are given $150 worth of SALTcoin, which can be redeemed online for everything from e-gift cards and charitable donations to sending flowers to a special someone. Even better, each employee receives 100 additional SALTcoin every month to gift to coworkers to promote collaboration and recognition.

When Smith found out about the Culture Crew at SALT, she immediately volunteered. Now, she participates in brainstorming fun engagement ideas and bringing them to life. Some notable ones? A video meeting where everyone dressed up as characters from “Tiger King,” a secret gift exchange for the holidays, a virtual trivia event, an online game night, a Halloween costume bash and a Zoom instructor-led painting party.
