Designs, implements, tests, reviews, and maintains onboard software for satellite core services, including file transfer, synchronization, automation, scheduling, attitude control, and navigation. The role contributes to software architecture, development standards, CI/CD, release coordination, and reliable operation of an on-orbit satellite fleet. Requires C/C++, Python, distributed systems, networking, POSIX, multithreading, version control, build systems, and continuous integration experience.

Design, implement, test, review, and maintain reliable onboard spacecraft software for monitoring, control, mission logic, fault detection, recovery, and lifecycle management. Contribute to software architecture, development standards, release coordination, and operation of Loft’s on-orbit satellite fleet. The role requires strong C/C++, Python, distributed systems, networking, multithreading, version control, CI, and build-system experience.

Leads the embedded software and FPGA engineering organization, owning technical roadmaps, hardware-abstraction architecture, platform interfaces, and engineering standards across satellite systems. Guides Linux, Yocto, CI/CD, secure environments, hypervisors, RISC-V, and Rust technology choices while driving reliability, integration, verification, and operational readiness. Manages distributed teams, develops technical leaders, removes blockers, and represents the organization with customers, partners, and government or defense stakeholders.

Build and own a space-based AI marketplace from MVP to scale, including the storefront, partner portal, admin tools, APIs, onboarding, entitlements, metering, integrations, deployment workflows, and third-party connectors. The role requires end-to-end full-stack development, cloud-native infrastructure, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, secure multi-tenant authorization, and collaboration with engineering teams. The founding developer will ship weekly on a small team and use AI-assisted development workflows.

Lead a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering team supporting spacecraft assembly, integration, and production. Develop controlled process plans, work instructions, routings, BOMs, tooling, fixtures, and layouts; troubleshoot production issues; conduct root cause investigations; improve quality, throughput, ergonomics, and repeatability; ensure EBOM/MBOM/PBOM alignment; provide DFMA feedback; mentor engineers; and introduce scalable manufacturing technologies and automation. The role requires substantial on-site production-floor work in Golden, Colorado.

Own the roadmap for a significant product area spanning satellite systems, onboard AI applications, and partner platforms. Translate strategy and customer needs into engineering requirements, prioritize capabilities, define success criteria, and coordinate delivery. Conduct customer discovery, analyze markets and business cases, communicate technical recommendations to executives, and align engineering, program leadership, business development, and partners around product direction.

Build and maintain backend microservices that command, monitor, and automate satellites. Own Python services end-to-end, design APIs, handle commands and telemetry, integrate with flight and ground systems, support internal users, and occasionally participate in live spacecraft operations and incident response.

Drive program delivery and cross-functional coordination for Cloud, Test, and Space Infrastructure teams. Manage workload, on-call scheduling, risk register, and process improvements; facilitate Agile teams, surface dependencies and escalations, and enable reliable, scalable satellite operations.

Design, implement, and maintain onboard software packaging, deployment, and runtime infrastructure for satellites. Work across bundle management, Linux rootfs and service management, container runtime/environment and registries, CI/CD pipelines, and product validation to ensure reliable, secure execution of customer workloads in orbit.

Manage full sales lifecycle for Loft's space mission services across the Americas: generate and qualify leads, develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and support accounts during program execution. Collaborate with sales engineering, product, and engineering teams to craft mission solutions for commercial and institutional customers.

Lead assembly, integration, and testing of RF subsystems for spacecraft. Develop test plans, execute RF performance and environmental tests (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC), troubleshoot hardware, analyze and report results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize RF system performance and ensure flight readiness.

Lead ADCS performance, define guidance and attitude control requirements, develop and validate guidance algorithms, coordinate with bus suppliers, support customers and on-orbit operations, diagnose and resolve ADCS anomalies, and build common guidance services across multiple spacecraft platforms.

Lead the architecture of Loft's offering across ground, space, software, and hardware. Define capability allocation, interfaces, and requirements; shape ground tools and customer integration; coordinate cross-functional teams; produce CONOPS/ICDs and architecture notes; ensure scalable, reusable solutions and guide cross-cutting technical decisions.

Define and own integrated system design for the Hub across ground, space, software, and hardware. Translate concepts into technical specifications, manage requirements, ICDs, CONOPS, trade studies, and design reviews. Drive verification, validation, and modular integration; partner with hardware, software, and product teams to ensure clean interfaces and product-quality through development into operations.

Hands-on senior electrical engineer responsible for end-to-end board and power supply design, interfacing with mechanical, systems, and program teams, supporting multiple bus protocols and space vehicle subsystems, and providing electrical-systems support such as harness schematics and ICDs.
