Being a person of color in tech isn’t always easy. “As an African American and a father, breaking into the world of coding wasn’t a linear experience,” said iOS Software Engineer Ayoola Abudu. “But Hinge provides many opportunities to learn and network with a focus on compassionate personal growth.” Since joining the company, Abudu has admired how Hinge focuses on values, all while working with the DEI department to maintain a diverse and inclusive workplace. “Hinge has taken that approach in its mobile application by designing features for groups such as the LGBTQ+ community to feel safe and included in the process of finding love,” Abudu said. “I call that progress.”
