You’ll work with Python 3, GIL and its limitations, Asyncio, while focusing on code quality and PEP8. You will be involved with microservices architectures and RESTful APIs (some of our older interfaces) and GraphQL (most of our interfaces, and our strategic direction going forward.). As a back-end engineer you won’t be directly responsible for AWS management, but familiarity with the AWS environment will be a strong plus.  You’ll work on Redis, RabbitMQ, Docker in general, ElasticSearch and Kibana.  In addition to Postgres/RDS, we use a graph database called Neo4J – possibly not familiar to you, but an opportunity to learn.  Familiarity with Kubernetes will help you get up to speed faster.

You will be a key contributor in the design and development of our web application architecture and our overall platform.   You will be part of a small focused team of 8-12 engineers focused on front-end technology, and will work with 8-12 engineers focused on back-end (primarily microservices, Python) technology.  You will be a collaborative engineer, working with back end engineers and test engineers to ensure our architectural vision remains coordinated, well-understood, and built-to-last.  You will be comfortable working as part of a distributed team with extensive remote-work experience (and may be full-time remote yourself), so understanding how to effectively maintain strong lines of communication is critical.  You will be working with the latest technologies and comfortable learning new things.

As the User Experience (UX) leader, you will apply your passion for creating meaningful experiences around our brand, platform, and all customer touch points. You’ll have an innate sense for clean design, a vocal advocate for the user, and committed to creating elegant user experiences from otherwise complex workflows. You will also take time to understand not just the delivery side of design, but the business outcomes we are driving for our products as well.
