Leads regional commercial underwriting operations, including risk selection, pricing, portfolio profitability, business planning, agency relationships, sales growth, and team performance. Oversees underwriting managers and teams, guides complex and unusual risks, monitors production, retention, loss ratios, and profitability, and ensures compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements. The role also develops underwriting talent, manages branch objectives, supports agency development, and travels as needed across the assigned territory.

Handles California liability claims across commercial auto, property, construction defect, construction general casualty, and general liability. Responsibilities include reviewing coverage, policies, exclusions, contracts, reserves, and legal exposures; investigating claims; preparing coverage letters; managing counsel and adjusters; negotiating settlements; and ensuring regulatory compliance. Provides customer service, documentation, reporting, and timely claim resolution.
