Everyone has their “why.”
Why they work where they do. Why they chose their career path. Why they enjoy their job.
Feeling connected is Eden Buckley’s why.
As the senior director of sales at Intellistack, Buckley said staying connected to a shared purpose is vital to her team’s success.
“A strong team culture makes my work feel personal,” Buckley said. “ It gives every task, every meeting, every win more meaning.”
Built In spoke with Buckley about what makes the sales team culture at Intellistack so unique.
Intellistack is a secure workplace productivity platform built to produce ingenious solutions to the everyday work that slow organizations down.
Describe your sales team culture in one word. Why did you choose that word?
Connected. I chose “connected” because our team operates with a strong sense of unity and shared purpose, no matter where we are. Whether collaborating from the Denver office or working remotely across time zones, there’s a strong commitment to communication, trust and support. We celebrate wins together, proactively share learnings with one another and move as one team toward common goals. That sense of connection is what makes our culture not just productive, but meaningful.
What are your team’s traditions or growth opportunities? How do these traditions help team members connect, evolve and stay motivated?
We’re always evolving our growth programs and traditions to meet people where they’re at, and there are a few meaningful rituals that bring our team together and keep us connected. One of my favorites is our Thursday office lunch; lunch is delivered, and we all make time to gather in the kitchen, catch up and share a moment away from our desks. It’s simple, but it builds a real sense of camaraderie.
We also host monthly go-to-market meetings that bring the broader team together, including remote and in-office folks. These meetings always include breakout discussions around timely topics, which give us a chance to collaborate with people we might not interact with daily. It’s a great way to hear new perspectives and spark ideas.
What makes these experiences even more impactful is our culture committee, a group of team members from across different departments who help plan initiatives that bring people together and reinforce our values. From organizing engagement activities to supporting inclusive moments of connection, they ensure our culture isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we actively invest in. We had an office mini-golf competition last month which was super fun.
How does a strong team culture make you feel more connected to your day-to-day work?
A strong team culture makes my work feel personal. It gives every task, every meeting, every win more meaning. When I’m surrounded by people who support and challenge me, I naturally feel more motivated. I want to show up, contribute my best and go the extra mile... not because I have to, but because I’m genuinely invested. Whether I’m working from home or walking into the office, I feel energized knowing I’m part of a team that’s aligned, collaborative and driven by winning together.
