Who hasn’t dreamed of owning their very own droid? As of today, that dream can become a reality. Boulder-based Sphero began selling the BB-8, one of the stars of the upcoming Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens at 12:01 a.m. this morning.

The BB-8 looks pretty legit. It’s app controlled, like all of Sphero’s robots, and charges off an inductive base charger. You can ‘drive’ it around using your iPhone, or you can put it into an autonomous mode and it’ll roll around and explore on its own. Plus the family cat is guaranteed to have several hours of entertainment.

The BB-8 will also recognize its owner’s voice. Not only will it respond to voice commands, its actions will apparently evolve as it gets used to you. Probably the coolest thing, however, is that the droid will record and send virtual holographic videos. YouTube is about to get a whole lot nerdier.

Anyway, check out the video. Should you want to buy your own droid, it’ll cost you $150.
