CognitiveScale raises another $15M
CognitiveScale completed another $15 million round of financing, surpassing $50 million in funding since it launched four years ago. Returning investors led the round, joined by newcomers The Westly Group and USAA. In addition to the company’s investment, USAA has launched a new partnership with CognitiveScale to offer its augmented, predictive financial services to USAA’s customers and advisors. OwnLocal acquires Wanderful Media
Making its fifth acquisition in four years, OwnLocal announced this week that they have acquired newspaper consortium-owned Wanderful Media. The move allows OwnLocal to continue to grow its media partner network and add to their portfolio of digital services offered to local advertisers. Deals of the acquisition were not disclosed; however, Wanderful Media will continue to operate as an independent company with its office in Chico, CA, with 10 employees joining OwnLocal immediately. Aurea completes acquisition of Jive Software
The all-cash transaction valued at $462 million has been finalized for Aurea’s acquisition of Jive Software through ESW Capital’s affiliate Wave Systems. Jive, a social business software developer out of Palo Alto, is now officially a part of Austin-based Aurea, which develops client success solutions. This marks Aurea’s tenth acquisition since it launched in 2012. [Press Release]
DivInc applications now open for fall cohort
DivInc’s fall accelerator program is now accepting applications through July 19. To qualify, one of the founding members must be a woman or person of color and the company must be tech or tech-enabled. The cohort will run from September 5th thru November 29th. LiveOak Technologies raises 1.7M
Austin startup LiveOak Technologies completed $1.7 million of a planned $2.5 million round of funding this week. The company develops technology that makes virtual meetings easier for businesses through video conferencing, electronic signatures and co-browsing tools. Six investors participated in the round. Kony welcomes Bruce Dahlgren as new CRO
Kony appointed Bruce Dahlgren as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer. Dahlgren joins the company from HP, where he served as SVP of enterprise services and managing director for nearly five years and has held executive roles at Lexmark International, AT&T, and NCR. Kony, founded in 2007, develops mobile applications and custom solutions for enterprises. [Press Release]
