Uber delivering ugly sweaters

In a partnership with TipsyElves, Denverites can order an ugly sweater straight to their door. This year, the design features the Denver skyline, bears and even the Colorado flag. E-commerce giant Amazon is reportedly considering opening a Denver office. The Seattle company’s real estate search centers on the downtown area, a recent hotspot for tech companies. Commons on Champa wins diversity grant

Denver’s The Commons on Champa recently received a $400,000 grant from the Kauffman Foundation as part of the foundation’s Inclusion Challenge. The city-backed entrepreneurial campus will use the money to help women and people of color find success as entrepreneurs. MergeLane and Avid4Adventure to launch youth leadership camp

Boulder accelerator MergeLane announced earlier this week their plans to launch a leadership camp designed for youth, in partnership with Avid4Adventure. MergeLane works with companies that are primarily owned and run by women and will hold a leadership camp for women this spring. Avid4Adventure runs summer camps for kids, connecting them to the outdoors. The youth camp will take place in August, emphasizing leadership skills and confidence-building for high school girls. DigitalGlobe satellite returns first image from space

This week, Westminster-based DigitalGlobe released the first image taken by their recently-launched WorldView-4 satellite. The company, which provides high-resolution images, data and analysis of the Earth’s surface, launched the satellite in partnership with Lockheed Martin and United Launch Alliance in mid-November. Webroot wins “Best in Biz” award

Broomfield-based cybersecurity company Webroot won gold in the Best in Biz Awards’ “Most Customer Friendly Company of the Year” category. The award celebrates the company’s customer support efforts, which have received a 96 percent satisfaction rate over the past five years. Webroot cites their telephone support system, which spans four offices around the globe, along with their growing online community, as examples of their customer support successes.
