Scythe Robotics, a Colorado-based company specializing in autonomous solutions for the landscape industry, has opened an expanded production facility in response to high customer demand. The new 28,000-square-foot facility more than doubles the size of Scythe’s corporate headquarters and manufacturing line. The expansion will support the company’s rapid growth and enable the production of over 100 mowers in the coming months, with production expected to increase further when the next generation of the M.52 is launched later this year.
In the design of the production line, Scythe has implemented a unidirectional movement system to optimize workflows and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality mowers. The upgraded warehouse and production line feature innovative amenities such as raising platforms, agile cranes and dedicated assembly stations to enhance the comfort and productivity of assembly technicians.
The larger headquarters will also provide ample office and meeting areas to accommodate Scythe’s 80 employees, 60 of whom are based in Colorado. Its location in Longmont offers proximity to universities and a vibrant robotics community, making it an ideal choice for Scythe’s headquarters, according to the company. The expansion has been recognized by the State of Colorado and the City of Longmont, with Governor Polis stating that Scythe’s new facility will contribute to Colorado’s national leadership in the cleantech industry.
