Nuburu Defense, a laser technology company headquartered in Centennial, announced its acquisition of Orbit, a software company building solutions for operational resilience in mission-critical sectors. The deal will expand the capabilities of NUBURU’s defense and security hub.

Orbit’s tech enables organizations to anticipate, manage and recover from disruptions across physical and digital environments. NUBURU’s laser-based solutions have applications in the defense, security and critical infrastructure sectors. Through this acquisition, NUBURU aims to develop a comprehensive suite of defense and infrastructure resilience solutions.

The deal will be executed in two stages. Initially, NUBURU will take a 10.7 percent stake in Orbit worth $1.5 million, then it will acquire Orbit’s remaining equity at a $12.5 million pre-money valuation by the end of 2026.

“This binding agreement is a pivotal step in our evolution,” Alessandro Zamboni, executive chairman and co-CEO of NUBURU, said in a statement. “Orbit’s software perfectly complements our defense hardware portfolio, allowing us to offer comprehensive, interoperable systems that protect mission-critical assets and enhance operational readiness.”
