DENVER –

myStrength, Inc.™ is excited to contribute to multiple healthcare industry forums across the U.S. myStrength’s Chief Executive Officer, Scott Cousino will speak at the Michigan Primary Care Association’s annual conference on September 1, 2015 at 11am EDT, as well as give a Tech Ted Talk at the Missouri Coalition For Community Behavioral Healthcare on September 18 at 11am CDT.

The National Institute of Health reports 1 in 4 people struggle with mental health challenges each year. It is estimated that 70 percent do not receive effective care due to cost, stigma and access, resulting in a poor quality of life and subsequent disease. Healthcare organizations across the U.S. have integrated myStrength’s evidence based, innovative web and mobile self-care tools to expand access, improve outcomes and reduce the cost of care.

An advocate for consumer-focused applications that complement and enhance existing care models, Cousino frequently participates in thought leader forums on disruptive technology in behavioral health. He recently joined a panel of experts at Nashville’s HealthFurther www.healthfurther.com where the rapidly changing behavioral health landscape was discussed. myStrength was also highlighted at Florida's Behavioral Health Annual Conference when Cousino presented Integrating Consumer Self-Help Tools Into Your Care Model https://bit.ly/1LzBSy4

We are thrilled to engage in industry conversations, contribute the evolution of innovative behavioral health resources and share our experiences. Our national presence, combined with training over 10,000 physicians, clinicians, and peer specialists on myStrength has provided unique learning opportunities around provider adoption and consumer engagement of web and mobile self-care tools. Our collaboration with over 80 healthcare providers including national health plans, integrated health systems, ACOs and community and county behavioral health systems, gives us a frontline perspective into the changing industry landscape”, Cousino said.

The upcoming Michigan Primary Care Association’s annual conference draws local and national thought leaders and will be held August 30-September 1 at The Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, MI. Mr. Cousino’s presentation will discuss the opportunity for Prescribing Self-care Technology and Evolving Behavioral Health Resources for Primary Care Physicians. The presentation will draw on how disruptive consumer-directed technology solutions (web/mobile apps) can be used within primary care practices as an effective behavioral health resource.

“Healthcare payers and providers are responding quickly to consumer demand for digital health solutions. We are eager to be a part of industry conversations that inform, accelerate and advocate for the consideration of these tools”, said Cousino.
