Why Xero Is Positioned for Long-Term Growth

When Claire Bramley decided to find her next role after spending 14 years working at HP and four years at Teradata, she was searching for one thing: “a global company that had a clear purpose, a massive market opportunity and a culture of true innovation.”

At Xero, a global small business platform, she found all of that — and more.

“Our purpose — to make life better for small businesses, their advisors and the communities they serve — is profoundly meaningful,” the chief financial officer said.

As a self-proclaimed “accountant at heart,” Bramley understands the value that Xero brings to its customers. She described her team as the heart of the business, leveraging data science, AI and strategic guidance to ensure that business decisions are timely, informed and conducive to sustainable growth.

“We don’t just report the numbers; we drive the performance,” Bramley said.

With a data-driven and outcome-oriented leadership style, she empowers her team to challenge the status quo while working together to create the best outcomes. And as Xero strives to broaden its presence in the U.S. market, Bramley said that even more individuals will have the chance to drive its vision forward.

“We have a strong global foundation, a clear strategy and an incredible opportunity to bring even more value to our customers, partners and communities,” she said.

Below, Bramley shares more about what it’s like to work at Xero, her leadership vision and what excites her the most about the company’s bright future.

Why Claire Bramley Chose to Join Xero

I’ve had a long career in global tech, leading finance at some of the world’s largest companies, including Teradata, and over 14 years at HP. So, when it came time for my next move, I was looking for something specific: a global company that had a clear purpose, a massive market opportunity and a culture of true innovation.

Xero is all of that, and more. Our vision — to make life better for small businesses, their advisors and the communities they serve — is profoundly meaningful. As an accountant at heart, I truly understand the value we bring every day. We’re not just a software company; we are an essential partner enabling millions of businesses and their advisors to thrive. That sense of purpose is what drew me in.

As a CFO and a global citizen, I’m excited about the opportunity ahead in the U.S. market, but I approach it with the perspective that all  our key markets matter equally.
