Back by popular demand to feed your inner curiosity, the third annual
Startup Crawl features 12 of the hottest startup pads in Denver. Participants will rendezvous at Basecamp to embark on a route throughout Downtown Denver stopping at 12 quintessential Denver startups to eat, drink, and celebrate our homegrown tech culture. The crawl gives technologists a chance to go behind the scenes and experience the company culture first hand.
Here's an inside look into each startup's successes of the year, their estimated hiring efforts, & their planned pizzazz at their stop during the crawl.
3pm: Basecamp Rendezvous (1616 Arapahoe)
We'll have plenty of startups to checkout, games, and alcoholic beverages. Plus, Segway games! 7 lucky winners will have their own transport during the crawl thanks to Ecospace Commercial. OneReach, Built In Colorado, & myHub will also be entertaining crawlers.

SpotXchange is a digital video advertising platform. It now has more than 1 billion auctions per day and reaches 335 million unique visitors in more than 100 countries each month. They were also named Denver Post’s Top Places to work for the 3rd consecutive year. And because they were acquired by a leading European media giant RTL for $144 million they will be expanding rapidly. To that point they have added 27 people in engineering this year alone and plan on bringing on 20 more. They are also actively hiring operations and sales positions at their corporate office in Westminster and other worldwide offices. At the DSW Startup Crawl SpotXchange will have several operations and engineering employees attending giving away free food and swag. They said you will notice that “We are a fun office of energetic people who love to be a part of things at and outside of work.”

Choozle offers a cloud-based advertising platform that enables companies to analyze customer behavior and grow their business. They’ve added 4 new hires this year bringing the company total to 12. Choozle is looking for addition engineering, product and sales talent, mostly for its Denver headquarters. At the DSW Startup Crawl Choozle will feature games, beer and of course great conversations about ad tech.

ReadyTalk provides audio, web and video conferencing services.
It has won numerous best company awards and in 2013 was named the 5th Best Place to Work by Outside Magazine. Sound appealing? ReadyTalk is slated to hire 60 more employees in the next 12 months. During the DSW Startup Crawl you can join Camp ReadyTalk for shots – songs – smore’s. Specifically, they said to feel free to “Kickback by the fire with a beer, but beware of the bear!”

They've added 35 new employees this year to help with all sorts of projects. For example, the company just finished one of its more technically challenging projects, martialcodex.com. When thoughtbot employees aren’t hard at work they said they are enjoying “EJ's amazing chocolate chip cookies and our fantastic view of 16th street mall.” At the DSW Startup Crawl the company will be hosting three main areas:
1. Technical area, an interactive area setup to introduce basic programming concepts with Sphero balls. You don't have to have any experience at all in order to play and learn.
2. General hangout area with a great selection of local beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and wine, along with snack foods and corn hole.
3. They'll have a couple of demos set up of some of the work they have done recently.
[ibimage==29775==Medium==none==self==ibimage_align-right]Paysimple is a SaaS-based online payment solution for small businesses. 2014 has been a year of great growth as it just crossed the 10,000 customer mark this summer. They currently have 65 employees and are looking for sales, service, technology, and marketing hires. Paysimple said at their offices “We’ve got the standard issue kegerator, coffee machine, razor scooters, and we’ve been collecting games. We started with foosball and a wii, added bubble hockey, and just recently a Pop-a-Shot basketball game. Maybe PacMan next?” Which is fitting, because at the DSW Startup Crawl if you beat their CEO at bubble hockey you will win a PaySimple t-shirt. Appetizers, beer and wine will also be on hand.

In 2014, they were honored as a member of the Denver Business Journal’s Top Advertising Agencies, as well as a member of the Inc. 5000. So far in 2014 they’ve hired 13 new employees and still have positions to fill. The company is about 70 people strong. During office downtime the company said often “L3 team members can often be found in heated matches of foosball or Dance Dance Revolution, or taking cat naps in our office hammock.” At the DSW Startup Crawl they said they will be opening up their office to anyone ”who would like to join us for a few libations, discussions on digital marketing, games of cornhole, a digital photo booth and a chance to sample an exclusive craft beer that was brewed by our very own Social Media Manager, Chris Jones. “In fact, they’ll be “giving away a few 22 oz. bombers of Chris' craft beer to a select few lucky visitors!”

Signpost is cloud-based marketing software that gives local businesses the ability to build and manage customer relationships. They’ve had a fantastic year after a Series B funding from Spark Capital and OpenView Venture Partners, among others. What’s more Signpost was named one of America’s Most Promising Companies by Forbes Magazine in January. And they are on a trajectory to hire 31 more employees by the years’ end. Signpost’s offices sport ping pong tables, Rockband, pool table, keg with beer of choice, and a jumbotron blasting their favorite playlists all day. At the DSW Startup Crawl they will be providing wine, local beer, and finger foods, plus tons of free Signpost swag like sunglasses, frisbees, and koozies. iTriage is an app that helps people self-diagnose their symptoms and find the appropriate nearby health care services. They are looking to hire-on 20 more people to their already 130-person team. Their office is a beautiful loft space, fully equipped with ping pong tables that are always hosting company-wide tournaments. At the DSW Startup Crawl they will be giving away food, beer, and three 3D pens in a drawing.

TrackVia is an application platform that empowers end users to rapidly build their own business applications with zero programming. For the second year in a row, TrackVia earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies and was chosen as one of Outside Magazine’s Best Places to Work for a third year in a row. In 2014, TrackVia hired 16 new employees, bringing their total number of employees now to 55. TrackVia said their biggest claim to fame is the TrackVia Personal Passion Scholarship™: every employee is eligible for the Personal Passion Scholarship, providing $500 annually to pursue their personal passion outside the office, be it fly fishing, skiing, traveling or simply spending time with family. While Universal Mind has 160 resources all over the world, Denver is home (and Headquarters) to one of two offices - the other in Grand Rapids, MI. Universal Mind is particularly excited about the Webby Award they won for their iPad Table and their Waffle Wednesdays - both will be featured as part of the DSW Startup Crawl. They'll also be serving up bourbon and beer while their User Experience Experts dish out free advice on UX.

Ping Identity provides Internet and SaaS identity security and single sign-on solutions for Internet applications. They provide those products to as much as 50 percent of the Fortune 100. Ping Identity is going international by adding a new office in Tel Aviv. In total, Ping Identity has hired 67 employees this year. Within Ping’s offices in Denver employees are treated to a kegerator, a graffiti wall, a gong table and great patio. At the DSW Startup Crawl expect six beers on tap, a nacho bar, music and giveaways for the first 100 people.

Ibotta is a shopping rewards mobile app company. 2014 has been very good to Ibotta as they received a $20 million Series B from legendary entrepreneur Jim Clark and hit the $10 million mark for user rewards. The company has more than doubled its number of employees to 75 within the last year and has plans to hire 25 plus by early next year. The fast growing company will be moving into new and bigger offices soon too. At the DSW Startup Crawl they will be providing beer, snacks and plenty of swag.
