The alcohol-delivery service Drizly announced today they are significantly expanding their Colorado service area. The service will be expanding to the outskirts of Denver and Boulder, and for the first time people in Ft. Collins and Longmont will be able to use Drizly to have booze delivered to their doors. More excitingly, at least for those of us who have had access to the service since it launched in Denver in 2014, Drizly also released interesting data about the sorts of things Coloradans drink.

It turns out Coloradans love their beer and wine, but aren’t huge liquor drinkers. Beer and wine sales contributed to a whopping 79 percent of all sales, with beer and wine sales almost exactly even. As far as beer goes, we overwhelmingly prefer craft beer to old-fashioned domestics. That said, when we do drink swill, we drink local swill, and Coors was the top selling brand overall. The top selling craft beers were Dale’s Pale Ale, Dry Dock Apricot Blonde and Upslope Craft Lager.

The neighborhoods drinking all this booze probably won’t be much of a surprise. Livers residing in central Denver neighborhoods were responsible for metabolizing much of this booze. LoDo, Five Points, Capitol Hill and Congress Park were all among the heaviest drinking areas of Denver. While LoDo residents drank the most beer, people in Cherry Creek were pounding back the wine. If there ever was a stereotype…

Anyway, this data just covers the Denver metro area, but Drizly has expanded their footprint aggressively since first launching and most people living in the populated parts of the state can now use the service.

While people in central Denver and Boulder have been covered for awhile, people living in the following communities can now take part in the fun: Arvada, Aurora, Broomfield, Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Centennial, Commerce City, Denver Tech Center, Evergreen, Fort Collins, Genesee, Greenwood Village, Golden, Gunbarrel, Highlands Ranch, Ken Caryl, Lafayette, Lakewood, Littleton, Lone Tree, Louisville, Loveland, Morrison, Niwot, Northglenn, Parker, Superior, Thornton, and Westminster.
