Trout Tank Pitch Event for Social Impact Businesses, April 30 at 4 p.m.

It’s National Small Business Week — and Colorado Lending Source, the Denver Metro SBDC, and Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce have teamed up to celebrate. These organizations are hosting a Trout Tank Pitch Event for social impact businesses that includes a demo day and happy hour. Come out to share ideas and mix and mingle.

 

UX Design & Data Science Showcase & Happy Hour!, May 1 at 5 p.m.

Are you a recent grad looking for a new mentor, new opportunities or just to get your feet wet and engage with the local community? Now's your chance to connect with local UX designers and data scientists. Come on by, as this event is free to the public.

 

Workshop: Podcasting 101, May 1 at 7 p.m.

Getting started can be the hardest part of any new project, but House of Pod has your back. Come out to this workshop if you have a great idea for a podcast series you want to jumpstart. House of Pod's experienced radio residents, Matthew Simonson and Berry from Podcasts in Color, will take you through the basics and leave you with great tips on managing an idea, recording, branding and distribution. Plus, there will be beer and snacks.

 

Intro To HTML/CSS/JavaScript­: Free Learning Series, May 2 at 6 p.m.

The Learn to Code Learning Series is back, and the first order of business is HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. If you've never coded but want to get started, there's no time like the present. This learning series combines breakout sessions, formalized instruction and group learning for aspiring web developers. The series takes place every Wednesday with a "come and go as you please" structure. All skill levels are welcome!

 

Energy Industry Volunteer Day, May 4 at 5 a.m.

Take the time to give back. It’s the second annual energy industry volunteer day. Last year, more than 100 volunteers worked on six projects. Companies can also participate and get involved with projects like the Denver Rescue Mission, Tennyson Center for Children, Food For Thought and others.
