DigitalOcean, a Broomfield-based company working to help enterprises power and scale next-gen AI applications, announced its acquisition of Katanemo Labs, an agentic AI infrastructure provider. The move enables DigitalOcean to extend its platform beyond agentic inference into the operational layer of agentic systems.

Katanemo Labs combines AI model research and open-source infrastructure for agentic workloads, including foundational work on small action models, orchestration, observability and safety. Integrating its offerings into DigitalOcean combines these specialized models, cloud infrastructure and an AI-native data plane to help developers build, run and continuously improve upon their AI agents during the production stage from a central platform.

“Katanemo Labs has spent years building … an AI-native data plane and specialized models that make multi-agent systems reliable, observable and fast to deploy,” Vinay Kumar, Digtial Ocean’s chief product and technology officer, said in a statement. “With Katanemo Labs’ suite of products and advanced research, we are accelerating the path from prototype to production by giving developers the predictability and performance they need to scale with confidence.”
