
Revolar shuts down amid legal battle
Denver-based tech startup Revolar, the creator of a wearable panic button, ceased operations this week amid a contentious patent dispute. The Techstars grad is well-loved in the local tech community, having brought in $4.5 million in funding since 2015. After determining there were no other viable options to keep the company afloat, Revolar brought on restructuring firm Sherwood Partners last month to help sell off assets. Occipital acquires Florida-based 3D mapping company Paracosm
Spatial computing company Occipital completed its acquisition of Gainesville, FL-based Paracosm this week. Paracosm develops 3D mapping technology — technology that complements Occipital’s and could enable the company to rapidly scale its 3D mapping capabilities and begin work with autonomous vehicles. Amazon announces in-home delivery service to come to Denver
Yesterday, Amazon announced its latest delivery initiative: Amazon Key. The new service, which will roll out in Denver on Nov. 8, will enable delivery personnel to drop packages off inside recipients’ homes when they’re not there. Users need to buy a camera and Wi-Fi-connected lockbox from the company in order to take advantage of the service. The service will only be available to Amazon Prime users. [The Denver Post]

Riot Blockchain adds Jason So to board of directors
Earlier this month, the company Bioptix Inc. made a major pivot from a biotech company to a blockchain technology investment firm, changing its name to Riot Blockchain. Soon after, the company acquired a majority stake in Toronto-based blockchain company TESS. Now, it’s brought on Eric So as a member of its board of directors. So is the chief legal and corporate development officer at Mundo Inc., a global digital marketing company, and he brings more than 17 years of legal experience to the team. [Press release]
