AMP, a company dedicated to building AI-powered material recovery and recycling plants, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for its newest facility. In partnership with Waste Connections Colorado, AMP is establishing a plant in Commerce City, Colorado, that is slated to open in 2026.
Upon completion, the facility will autonomously process up to 62,000 tons of single‑stream recycling with the help of AMP ONE, the company’s fully automated intelligent sortation system. This configurable technology will continually perform software updates, enabling it to make fine adjustments, identify jams, monitor purity and adapt to changes on the line.
AMP established its partnership with Waste Connections in 2020 to deploy its AI-guided robotics systems across the latter company’s material recovery facilities. Since then, more than 50 systems have been implemented, building on the initial 24 that kickstarted the deal. For its new facility, AMP will operate and maintain the AMP ONE system under a pay-per-ton agreement.
