Denver, CO - March 7th, 2016 Rockies Venture Club, an angel investing organization based out of Denver will be hosting the 3rd Annual University Startup Challenge (USC) on March 14th. The University Startup Challenge is a part of the Angel Capital Summit (ACS) and this year it will bring together 7 student led companies to participate in a friendly state-wide competition. The USC is not a business plan competition and represents an opportunity for real investment. The teams that have been nominated to represent one of Colorado’s Universities will be presenting alongside 15 of the region’s best companies seeking angel and venture capital funding. This competition will be judged by a panel of venture capitalists including Access Venture Partners’, David Gold.
This competition was founded three years ago with the goal of showcasing the various entrepreneurial programs that Colorado’s universities have to offer. Rockies Venture Club’s Executive Director, Peter Adams states, “In recent years Colorado has become a hotbed of innovation and entrepreneurship. Much of this development is being supported by the great Universities and Colleges that we have here. The University Startup Challenge was a great way for us to celebrate this progress while throwing a bit of fun competition into the mix.”
This year the 7 seven teams will represent The University of Colorado Boulder, Colorado State University, Denver University, Colorado College, The Air Force Academy, The University of Colorado Colorado Springs, and Pikes Peak Community College. Learn more about them below:
