What could you possibly have scheduled that’s as cool as an opportunity to write a few lines of code with Congressman Jared Polis? In addition to writing code, parts of the event will focus on discussing obstacles women face in the tech industry. Congressman Polis is an independent co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Exploring The Stack: How Web Applications Work, August 19th at 6 p.m.
Come and figure out what techies are talking about when they use phrases like full-stack, front-end and back-end. By the end of the talk you should understand the different parts of a technology stack, and what that means. The event is designed for people with no web development experience — though obviously the more the better.
Just Some Geeks Jamming Out, August 19th at 6 p.m.
Despite what you may think, this event is not about geeks writing code. Yup, it turns out that in Boulder, even geeks can play the guitar. Grab your instrument (preferably something that plugs in) and head over to Gorilla Logic’s Boulder offices for a jam session.

Sometimes entrepreneurs get super busy managing the details of their business and forget to stop and make sure they’re actually accomplishing their goals. This talk will cover the best practices for making sure you’re growing your business effectively, and using your time wisely. Once you stop doing and start thinking, who knows what you’ll figure out.
WeevCon 2015, August 21 at 8 p.m.
Avid users of the social video app Weev are converging on The Boot Grill in Fort Collins. 99.9 The Point will be hosting a party with live music and, I’m sure, there’ll be plenty of videographers on hand to document the whole thing. The event is open to everyone and, all they ask is that you download the app before arriving.
