Microservices - Neal Ford, August 12th at 5:30 p.m.
If you want to have a couple beers, do some networking and figure what the term ‘microservices’ means, than this event has your name all over it. Mike Ford will discuss how companies like Netflix and Amazon are moving towards microservice architectures and why that’s important. If you just really want to know what microservices means, here’s a good explanation.
Startup Grind Hosts Lewis Visscher, August 13th at 6 p.m.
Like most Startup Grind events, this one promises networking, food and a fireside chat with somebody doing cool things in Colorado tech. This week the speaker will be Lewis Vischer, the CFO of Catalyst Repository Systems, which is kind of like a Google for lawyers.
Startup Bike Summit, August 14th at 8 a.m.
Want an excuse to spend Thursday in the mountains? This event is taking place at about 9,000 feet in Frisco, CO. The event itself is focused on innovation in the outdoor industry and will feature speakers and a chance to network on a mountain bike. Really, it doesn’t get more stereotypically Coloradan than that.
Summer of Suerte, August 14th at 5 p.m.
Summer of luck! Or, in this case, summer of Suerte Tequila. Impact Hub Boulder is celebrating the opening of their patio with a series of Friday happy hours featuring Tequila handmade in Boulder. Not sure where the cactuses came from, but if you’re drinking cocktails on the porch, do you really care?
Summer PitchFest, August 17th at 5 p.m.
Come and see the pitches of some of Colorado’s most promising early stage companies. Investors will have a chance to meet the entrepreneurs behind the companies, and the rest of us will have a chance to hear some awesome pitches. There will also be a pre-event networking happy hour, so maybe the VCs will be tipsy and in the spending mood (we can dream).
Have an amazing week Colorado and make sure to check out our events calendar for all the other tech events happening around town.
