DISH Network and EchoStar are combining in an all-stock merger. The conjoined entity will combine DISH’s streaming services and 5G network with EchoStar’s satellite communications solutions.
The combined company aims to deliver a broad set of communication and content distribution capabilities leveraging terrestrial and non-terrestrial wireless connectivity. DISH’s 5G wireless network covers more than 70 percent of the U.S., and EchoStar recently launched its JUPITER 3 satellite with significant available capacity for converged connectivity services.
The combined company will be headquartered in Englewood and will go to market globally under a suite of consumer and business brands, including DISH Wireless and DISH TV, as well as EchoStar’s Hughes and JUPITER satellite services. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2023.
