Remember last week when the temperatures were in the mid-80s, just before we found ourselves in the middle of a late-May snowstorm? It’s enough to feel like your concept of time and weather has been shaken like a snow globe. Luckily, Built In Colorado is here to give you a quick refresh on last week’s tech news and make sense of it all. This is the Built In Colorado weekly refresh.

Velocity Global snagged $400M. The week’s biggest funding round far and away came from Velocity Global, which enables businesses to onboard, manage and pay remote employees throughout the U.S. and in more than 185 countries. Since launching in Denver in 2014, the company has grown its global team to 700 employees, which it plans to double by the end of the year. [Built In Colorado]

Dynatrace announced a new Denver office. Massachusetts-based software intelligence firm Dynatrace reportedly considered 50 cities before deciding to base its global customer experience team in Denver — more specifically a 52,000-square-foot office at 1900 16th Ave. The company plans to hire up to 400 Denver-based employees within the next three years. [Denver Business Journal]

LandGate raised $10M. The Denver-based climate tech startup provides companies with instant data about the value of solar, wind, water, oil and other resources for any parcel of land in the U.S. This Series B round brings the company’s total funding raised to date to $19 million in debt and equity. Fulcrum landed $5M. Denver-based Fulcrum uses AI technology and data to help marketing and sales teams create personalized customer experiences, which increases engagement and sales conversions. The startup will use the $5 million funding to accelerate its technology roadmap, scale its business operations and better serve its growing roster of enterprise customers. [Yahoo! Finance]

Safe Rx added $3M. Safe Rx is the developer of a locking prescription vial designed to prevent children and other family members from taking opioids and other drugs from their family’s medicine cabinet. This $3 million add-on seed round will be used to expand the company’s inside sales and customer support teams for federally-qualified health centers and addiction treatment centers. [Safe Rx]
