Colorado is home to outdoor adventures of every stripe — an appeal that draws thousands of new residents to the state each year. Huck Adventures aims to tap into that community — both in Colorado and around the world — and make it even stronger by connecting outdoor enthusiasts who want to learn new skills or buddy-up with people at a similar skill level. Its app is slated for release in the spring, but Huck Adventures is already busy building its “Huck Insider” community, which will have early access to the app and help test new features before they’re released to the public.

Fatigue and burnout can impact every facet of our lives. Yet few of us know how to spot the symptoms or what to do when we’re feeling the effects. Leveraging biometrics and smartphone-based computer vision technology, Okaya helps users dig deeper into their personal data to uncover the sources of burnout and the impacts it can have on the body and mind. From there, the startup offers an online marketplace where users can access resources and wellness professionals to help them take control of their personal wellbeing. The startup — whose founding team spans from Boulder to France to Romania — launched in the middle of 2018 and is currently seeking users to sign up for its waiting list as product development continues.

Navigating the rental market in Denver can be tough, intimidating and incredibly competitive. As a result, many people get pushed into renting apartments quickly, only to find out later that their landlord is unresponsive or their lease has some questionable policies around things like security deposits or repairs. Renting Right serves as a resource for apartment hunters that helps them make the right decisions about where — and from whom — to rent. Through its online portal, renters can leave and read reviews on specific properties and the people who own or manage them, bringing some much-needed transparency to the business of renting.

In lieu of outdated medical alert buttons that rely on patients to signal a need for attention, Physia gives caregivers and emergency response teams real-time updates about a patient’s health using IoT and connected medical devices that can automatically signal if a patient is at risk.
