Startup Week returns to Fort Collins: What you need to know

Startup Week returns to Northern Colorado on Monday with nearly 60 sessions to choose from. The weeklong community celebration is designed to support entrepreneurs of all stripes — and it’s free.

With so much going on during the week, we spoke with Charisse Bowen, Fort Collins Startup Week organizer and Fort Collins' campus director, to find out what you need to know.

Registration

Attendees register twice. To register in general, hit up the Startup Week Eventbrite page. "You only need to do that once," said Bowen, "But that's the one that really counts."

Then you can let the organizers know to expect you by signing up to sessions on the schedule page.

Where it'll be

The sessions will take place all over Fort Collins, but most will happen at Galvanize’s new Fort Collins' campus in Old Town. Galvanize will also act as a base camp for the entire week, where attendees can check in, ask questions or simply meet up with one another. Among the other venues are Innosphere and the City of Fort Collins' Traffic Operations command center.

Participating on social media

While the magic happens at the actual events, you can also participate on social media. The official hashtag is #startupweekfoco, so be sure to follow and share with that. While it's always best to use the official hashtag, we've also seen #fcsw #fcsw16 and #startupfoco floating around the Twittersphere so you may want to keep an eye on those, too.

Our event picks

We're really looking forward to Wednesday's "Stress Management Through Art" and Friday's "Startup Success Local Discussion Panel." As for Bowen? "I think Thursday's going to be a pretty amazing day," she said. "We're doing a pretty intense Lean Canvas workshop that morning and have amazing speakers coming to talk. And the startup crawl that afternoon and evening is going to be a blast."
