Big changes, acquisitions at Zayo

There are some big changes going on at Zayo. The company announced they are buying Viatel, an Irish telecoms company for $102 million. In addition, the company will undergo an internal restructuring and be hiring a new executive to run their international business. HomeAdvisor tries to buy Angie’s List

The parent company of HomeAdvisor made an unsolicited offer to buy Angie’s List for $512 million. The offer comes to $8.75 a share, about 13 percent above Angie’s List closing price yesterday. Liberty Interactive to spinoff Expedia and CommerceHub

Liberty Interactive is going to spin off Expedia and CommerceHub into separate businesses. The companies will break up into entities, one that includes Liberty’s interest in Expedia and Bodybuilding.com. The other will be comprised of just CommerceHub. Drones to fly over area golf courses

The Colorado Springs-based Sanborn Map Company is using drones to capture arial footage of Denver’s city-owned golf courses and driving ranges. The city will use the videos on their websites, and for televised golf events. Amazingly, there are seven city-owned golf courses in Denver. Madwire Media said to be considering a move to Ft. Collins

Loveland-based Madwire Media is said to be considering a move up to Ft. Collins. The company is currently negotiating terms to lease the old Hewlett-Packard facility. Madwire Media currently employs around 220 people. [Madwire Media eyes possible move from Loveland to Fort Collins, BizWest]
