Director of Sales

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to work alongside our amazing team who are dedicated to both active lifestyles and to helping small businesses flourish. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Management:

  • Set and communicate the direction for the sales program at Zen Planner
  • Drive formation of sales strategies and achievement of key strategic objectives
  • Provide thought leadership to the company related to sales models & approaches

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of up to 15 direct reports, including supervisors, in a manner consistent with our OHANA company values
  • Provide personal development guidance for all sales team members
  • Ensure low turnover across the entire sales team by modeling team behavior and creating a fun and exciting environment

Sales Performance:

  • Directly lead and manage a team of 7-14 inside sales closers
  • Develop and use dashboards and analytics to drive achievement of objectives and continuous improvement
  • Deliver closed sales in alignment with our best-in-class lead closure rate
  • Maintain a culture of positive performance and team selling
  • Proactively manage staffing to ensure adequate capacity to meet the growth plan
  • Drive a rhythmic structure of daily, weekly and monthly performance assurance

Lead Delivery:

  • Directly lead and manage an outbound sales team of 5-10 through a supervisor
  • Efficiently deliver progressively increasing volume of high quality leads in alignment with our overall cost per lead objectives
  • Measure and manage the quality of leads to ensure at least 40% aggregate close rate
  • Manage the flow of leads to the closer team to ensure consistency with sales process
  • Appropriately size the team to match the availability and quality of lists and the overall lead generation cost model

Sales Enablement:

  • Continually optimize the sales process and technology to maximize the efficiency of the selling process while minimizing conflict
  • Identify and adopt practices that improve our performance while maintaining consistency with our culture and team values
  • Drive compliance with the sales process to deliver accurate customer data and scorecards
  • Implement special incentive programs to drive incremental sales volume and attachment of programs or features
  • Manage the annual sales commission revision process to drive continual improvement in annual sales results achievement

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven ability to select and manage high performing resources and teams (We want to see your results!)
  • Excellent relationship building and management skills
  • Team building and leadership capabilities
  • At least 5 years of experience driving highly successful direct sales teams in rapidly growing SaaS companies
  • Strong working knowledge of sales measurement and scorecards
  • Experience with multiple sales enablement tools including advanced use and administration of salesforce.com
  • The ability to make effective decisions under pressure and to manage consequences
  • Working knowledge of SaaS company operating models
  • Ability to succinctly and respectfully communicate priorities and results
  • Sense of urgency appropriate for a start-up environment
  • Ability to translate business objectives to work tasks
  • Drive to meet deadlines and self-manage for appropriate work-life balance
  • Though we are an active group, this job requires sitting, phone and computer use.  Mixed with the occasional Nerf projectile battle.

 

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Direct sales experience on a highly leveraged compensation model
  • Experience with lead qualification and lead closure management at a detailed level
  • Compensation plan creation and administration
  • Financial modeling expertise
  • Customer master database management and maintenance
